Maranatha Dark Chocolate Almond Spread

I had heard throught the grapevine that Maranatha had introduced chocolate nut butters and I was searching for them every week at Whole Foods.  So, when I saw this lovely jar setting on the nut butter shelf in Whole Foods, I was extremely excited!

I like to add a dollop to the top of my yogurt bowls.  But , truthfully its delectable right out of the jar.  I’ve also mixed it with other nut butters for a delicious dipping experience.  I love dark chocolate and this was dark chocolate at it’s finest.  It’s the rich flavor of cocoa and the smooth, creaminess of nut butter.  I could definitly taste the almonds but they weren’t overpowering.

I wish I would have had my new camera when I took these pics.  I may have to take some better ones of this deliciousness.  This is honestly one of the most delicious tastes that has ever crossed my lips!

 

Crofter’s Organic Asia Superfruit Spread

I recieved the four flavors of Crofter’s Organic Superfruit Spread through a giveaway on Julie Go Lean.  These Superfruit spreads are made with  organic fruits that are nutrient dense and flavor-packed.

The Asia Superfruit Spread was the first I tried.  It is made with yumberries and raspberries.  I did not even know that yumberries existed until the day I dipped my knife into this jar.  They certainly do live up to their name!  According to the Crofter’s website, yumberries and raspberries are native to East Asia.  This explains the name of the spread.

I expected a more prominant raspberry taste.  I’m not sure if I am disappointed with the lack of the raspberry flavor though.  I really liked to overall flavor.  Of course it doesn’t hurt that these are organic and have one-third less sugar than jam.

    Have you tried Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter? http://ilovepeanutbutter.com/index.php/peanutbutter/peanut-butter/darkchocolatedreams.html

    I just bought some again because it was on sale at Whole Foods, but I don’t think I like it quite as much as I did the first time I tried it. So I was wondering how the Maranatha compared.

    I’ve seen the Maranatha Dark Chocolate Almond Spread on the shelf at Wholefood’s, I was curious if it tasted good. Thanks for the review.

    I’m currently using a jar of Artisana Organic Cacao Bliss. I really like it because it’s not that sweet. Taste really good on top of hot oatmeals with peanut butter.
