Silicone…not just for perks

Last week ended with a Baby Shower !

IMG_0817

I felt so priveleged to be one of the first people to know about Myka’s pregnancy!  I was even more excited when she found out that she was having a girl…. although I would be just as happy for a boy :)

I was also lucky enough to help choose the cake

IMG_0816

It did say, “Welcome Dublyn Natalya”    By the time I was able to take picture, half the cake had been devoured!

Hey, I’m just glad the cake was that good.

IMG_0818

I e-mailed Myka a link to the bakery so that she could choose a flavor.  They had everything from cookies and cream cake to peanut butter frosting!   Myka chose white cake with buttercream frosting.

Jamie brought her sons, Trevor and Tallan

IMG_0815

Tallan opted to taste his hand.

IMG_0822

Trevor was extremely approving.

When I got home, Pedro decided to taste something decadent…

IMG_0827

He began like that

…and that led into this…

IMG_0828

…it was all or nothing

IMG_0830

I don’t always give Pedro  my almost empty AB jars but Snuffy and I needed some free entertainment.

Unfortunately, free anything is hard to come by.  I did get to use my employee discount on a new coat though!

IMG_0832

With my old-as-dirt North Face pants and even older New Balance shoes…I’m officially uncool

It’s a bit of an “old lady coat”  but I couldn’t afford a North Face Tri-Climate.  This one was the warmest coat that I could find and it didn’t look like every other pea coat that every other mom seems to have :)

I also discovered a new food combo to love

IMG_0838

Steamed Broc, Cauliflower and Carrots (California Blend) with 365 organic baked beans.  A little random, I know but I get some veggies, protein and complex carbs in something other than a traditional salad.  I wanted something warm.   I would like to try making my own baked beans though…anyone have a recipe?

I did create something from scratch…

IMG_0861

my working model of a human hand for Anatomy and Physiology lab

I used this website as a guide.  The website gave me a list of supplies…

IMG_0835

I used to quick-drying silicone caulk to create my hand but it still took FOREVER

Maybe it just seemed to take forever because my time for homework has been limited.  Mallard has been out of town for work for a week now.  He told me today that he may not even be home for Thanksgiving!!

So, my gym time has been cut drastically but I still found time to Whittle My Middle

I spent some quality time with Ms. Jillian Michaels as well.

IMG_0839

A few weeks ago I recieved Jillian’s Shred as part of a giveaway from Stephanie.  So, I had to pick up more Jillian I saw this at Target (pronounced TAR-JAY with a French JAY sound)….

Kudos to all of you SAHM’s that work out at home.  Working out with kids is hard even with the right equipment.

IMG_0843

One of my weights and one of Snuffy’s weights

She was all about the cardio warm up but she bailed on the rest.   I really liked the workout.   The plank variations were my favorite!  I can’t wait to try more of Jillian’s DVD’s

Bring It!

IMG_0858

Ya, that was right after I got finished.  The next day I was definitly feeling the leg work.  My glutes and hams were screaming! In a good way !  Tonight I tried Jillian’s Shred Level One.  It was pretty easy but it was Level One.  I wanted to start at the beginning in case it was tougher than I anticipated.

What’s your favorite at-home workout?

white cake with buttercream frosting in pink…oh too cute!
I never got the really girly baby shower I wished I had, so I always melt when I see other people’s, too sweet!

    love your new coat!

baked beans…well, molasses, brown sugar, yellow mustard, garlic, onion, S&P all cooked with the white beans you use. I have never actually made them but I have researched it ad nauseum and there are 1.86787980 million recipes but those are your basic ingredients off the top of my head. For vegans that is :)

Haha, PEdro is LOVING that almond butter!!! Too funny, I would have been jealous, for sure. I want to roll on the floor and lick the heck out of the almond butter jar!

That cake looks so delicious, and the picture is great! I can’t believe they have peanut butter icing, I’m getting that on my next b-day cake, for sure.

Not a fan of Jillian, my favorite at home workout is my Giam Pilates video! I love it.

    Have a fantastic Thanksgiving Jenna!

Jenna from eatliverun has a killer recipe for them on her blog – here’s the link: http://eatliverun.com/breakfast-recipes/homemade-baked-beans/. I’ve made them a few times with lots of compliments… I’m even making them for Thanksgiving :)

Oh… and I think you are rocking the new coat!

That’s too funny about your dog and almond butter! I had no idea dogs liked that!

My favorite workout dvds are the Get Ripped series and I also like to do kickboxing type cardio workouts at home.

Working out with kids is hard! the other day I was babysitting and decided to try and do some ab work and when I got into plank the little boy came and sat on my back! It made for a much tougher plank I guess! ;)

YUMMM buttercream :) Aww that is a cute name! I love little girls so fun to dress up!

If I’m at home it’s yoga or elliptical. I’m not a fan of at home working out though. I go crazy w/o my run or spin!

Aww hope Mallard makes it home for Thanksgiving!

Hey girl! I love your new coat! i think it’s super cute ,and there ain’t nothin wrong with rokcin a little old lady steeze with the utility pants and sneaks. You are adorable no matter what you wear! I don’t work out too much at home….for now–D is getting me an elliptical trainer for Christmas. Whoo hoo! But if I do exercise at home now, I usually do a yoga download or my super hilarious old school kickboxing videos. Hope you have a very happy thanksgiving my dear! xoxo
